This is a rare Kodek Moment
at Wayne County Speedway
on April 16, 2008. If you missed
this practice session chances are
you
missed the entire season at the
now shuttered 3/8ths mile facility.
So whats gong on you ask?
Who knows because no one can
get
a straight answer out of any party involved, but one thing is for sure competitors like Jason are left with few options to race on a Saturday night. "We initially built this car for Wayne County and Hilltop, although WCS was my favorite track, just an all around good facility, Hilltop came along and we all really like the high banks too. But with the current rule changes the 55 is no longer legal there. I would have like to see them change the class to super stock and then bring in the new pure stock class but whats done is done. Randy at Lakeville is really changing things around and the track prep has been excellent for this year. Even though Lakeville is an hour and a half drive for us it will be our home track."
Thats definately a long tow from home base in Valley View Ohio, this former drag racer got his first taste of dirt behind the wheel of a Mini Stock at Wayne County and his '55 was quickly changed from straight line to running in circles. The car
is equipped with a Roger Black asphalt chassis, powered by a 400 small block Chevy, M-21 4 speed, and the #51 is a traditional family racing number. Best of luck in 2008 Jason
