The Tri-State Modified Association (TSMA) has had a very busy off-season!

After the success of an inaugeral season which saw the Tri-State Modified Association sanction open wheel modified racing in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, licensing nearly 200 competitors, a full 40% of which earned season ending contingency awards, the TSMA has followed that up by adding new tracks and 2 new divisions for competition. "As of this time, TSMA has 18 tracks in a 4 state area which will sanction with us for the 2010 season" said TSMA director Tye Twarog. Last season, TSMA sanctioned 29 open wheel modified races paying a minimum of $1000 to win, with 14 races paying between $1500 - $5000 as a winner's share of the purse.
"It's important to me that TSMA tracks's succeed" Twarog explained. "Our rules are designed to ensure that success. TSMA's belief is that any "brand specific" rule for classes like these isn't in the best interest of promoters or competitors. It limits the racers options, and limits the cars that a promoter can put in the pits. Fans want to see big fields of cars as well. With economics as they are right now, every car, and ultimately every fan is important to the promoter's bottom line. We've found a way to allow all manufacturers to exist within our rules, and honestly believe that the benefits to all involved have proved themselves over the past year" Twarog concluded.

Returning as flagship tracks for the TSMA modifieds are the Muskingum County, Midway, Hilltop, Wayne County, Sharon, 250 Speedways along with the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex, all in Ohio. Newly sanctioned open wheel modified tracks will include Raceway 7, Cannonball and Eriez Speedways in Ohio, McKean County, Mercer Raceway Park, Pgh Pa. Motor Speedway and Tri-City Raceway in Pennsylvania, West Virginia Motor Speedway in West Virginia, and South Arcade Speedway in New York. "PPMS, Mercer, McKean County and WVMS are tracks that will sanction thier bigger modified events with TSMA. Only PPMS run the modifieds as a weekly division, so we're gratified and excited to be able to work with all of these tracks for their mod specials" added Twarog. Hanover, Ohio's Kevin Morehouse went into the TSMA record book as the first ever champion of the organization, earning $7515.00 in point funding and contingency awards on top of prize money earned at the end of his highly successful 2009 season.

In addition to the open wheel modifieds, TSMA has also added the Stock Car and newly formed Hot Mod divisions to it's sanctioning blanket for the 2010 season. "The area pure stock rules were all over the board in terms of what different tracks allowed, and both the racers and tracks were receptive to consolidation. There are a lot of cars out there, but we all agreed that we needed to find a way to get them to the tracks. We tried very hard to accomodate everyone, taking all area track's rules into consideration, and presented the class rules to the promoters. I'm sure there may be some growing pains, but honestly, it's something that is long overdue if the class is to thrive. We believe the common rules will allow both tracks and racers to benefit, providing larger fields by giving racers more than a one track option to compete". TSMA sanctioned Stock Car tracks for the coming season will include Midway, Muskingum County, Hilltop, Wayne County and 250 Speedways in Ohio, and I-77 Motorsports Park along with West Virginia Motor Speedways in West Virginia. The Hot Mod division, a newly developed area class of limited open wheel modified which has roots in the highly successful IMCA Southern Sportmods will also run under the TSMA banner in the 2010 season. Based on rules that restrict suspension to the required GM metric midsize chassis O.E.M. components, and engine rules restricting c.i.d. by manufacturer along with specific ignition, carburetion and compression guidelines, the Hot Mod class has already found a following from those who desire a more economical class of rear wheel drive race cars."This class has really taken off wherever it was introduced, and it's apparent that it will do the same here. It's a great class to bring new people into racing, and we've already seen guys who had quit because of costs coming back to the track because of this class. This isn't a class where the open mods fields are gutted due to allowing open chassis's. The Hot Mods are a separate class that have solid economical rules, and are bringing a "buzz" to the area". TSMA sanctioned Hot Mod division tracks will include Midway ( Ohio), West Virginia Motor and Tyler County ( West Virginia) Speedways. Both the Stock Car and Hot Mod divisions will run under current TSMA Modified point structures, and both will be included in year end contingency awards.

In closing Twarog said "It's an exciting time for TSMA. We realize the challenges that tracks and racers alike face in these tough economic times. I'll continue to do my best to work with all to build the value of their programs, and I appreciate the loyalty that the TSMA tracks, race teams and sponsors have provided".

ULMS RACING SERIES - tenative 2010 SCHEDULE
The 10th Anniversary season for the ULMS Racing Series is being put together and the first tentative schedule is being released with more pending dates still being worked on for both the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Model Series and the Kinzua Water Service United Emod Series. We expect at least four more ULMS dates to be added to the schedule and possibly five more UEMS Emod dates to be added by time the schedule is finalized in mid February.

"I am very pleased with how our schedule is coming together for this year for both series, commented ULMS Director, Chris Zuver." At this time we have eighteen, possibly nineteen late model events schedule and we still have interest from more tracks that want to be part of our 10th anniversary season. So far the highlights of the 2010 season are the possible four day ULMS Firecracker Tour during the 4th of July weekend featuring events at McKean County Raceway, South Arcade Speedway and Little Valley Speedway. The fans and race teams of Stateline Speedway have asked for the past three years, "come to Stateline", well ladies and gentleman, you got your wish! Francis Seamans of Stateline Speedway and I sat down and worked out a series of Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Model events at the Busti, NY oval. July 10 will see the ULMS Late Models on hand for a $5000 to win show, then on August 7 the ULMS gang will come back to Stateline for a $7000 to win event and then a big two day show on Sept 10 and 11th at Stateline. Those events will be two separate events. There is possibility of another event in May at Stateline. Per agreement with Stateline Speedway, the events at Stateline Speedway will feature a American Racer Tire Rule only for those events. The ULMS Late Models will be co-sanctioning three events at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway in 2010 with the UFO Race Championship Series. May 15 will see ULMS be part of the Red Miley 53 and then on July 24, the ULMS gang will come back to PPMS for the F2 Shockwave Twin 31s. The Northern Tier Inc. ULMS Late Models will also co-sanction the 21st annual "Pittsburgher " with the UFO Series. The ULMS Late Models will conclude their 2010 season with the 5TH annual MCR Fall Classic at McKean County Raceway on Sept 23-25 where the Priority Care RaceFAN 50 winner will go home with $12,000.

The Kinzua Water Service United Emod Series will kick off the 2010 season with the annual Chiller Thriller at Mercer Raceway Park. As of now, Memorial Day weekend will see the UEMS stars at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway for the Modisaurus X event, with the following night being part of the Tri City Speedway's Memorial Day weekend event featuring the WoO Sprint Series. On June 18 and 19, the UEMS tour will make their first ever visit to South Arcade Speedway and then head to McKean County Raceway. July 31 will see the biggest event in the history of the Kinzua Water Service United Emod Series. UEMS will sanction Stateline Speedway's $5000 to win Emod Invasion, with a $1000 to win non qualifier event also. Labor Day weekend will see the UEMS teams back for the annual Tri City Speedway Labor Day Classic with a pair of $1000 to win events. The following weekend UEMS will be at Stateline for a two day event featuring two separate shows. UEMS will join the ULMS Late Models at Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgher weekend with new race event details to be announced. UEMS will again join the ULMS Late Models at McKean County Raceway for the 5th annual Fall Classic on Sept 23-25 and at this time conclude the 2010 season at Mercer Raceway Park on October 2 with the Keystone Open paying $2000 to win. After 13 Seasons MACS
(Mid-Atlantic Championship Series)
Suspends Operation

Indiana, PA (December 27, 2009) With the final days of 2009 waning and after 13 seasons of successful operation under the Geesey Brothers, Andy, Series President, has been forced into making a very difficult decision to suspend all operations of the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series. The reasons are clearly evident with the current economic climate, changes in job related positions for Jeff, Andy, and Matt, as well as the increased proliferation of Series’ and organization have made it impossible to continue on.

Jeff summed it up by indicating,”The reason for the closure was multi-faceted but the increased pressure among organizations and the narrow band of facilities capable of handling larger events, as well as the constant overbooking of events and relative proximity to each other makes it very difficult to maintain a consistent schedule with full fields of cars”.

Andy related, “What was once a sanction pool here in the northeast containing Renegade (now WRG World of Outlaws), HAV-A-TAMPA (Lucas Oil Series) and us; has now grown, over the last seven years, to now include ALMS, BOB, Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek Series, Three-State Flyer Series, UFO, ULMS, and most recently the All-Star Circuit of Champions (formerly the short run IRS). We have major overlap to our north, south, east, and west.

Jeff chimed in, “Several of the above named groups sanctioned events in 2009 suffering with anemic car counts and the promoters didn’t receive the cost versus benefit ratio that they had hoped for or needed to make the event profitable. With too many groups and too few of race dates that put organizations head-to- head within three hours of each other is nearly impossible today to make it feasible for teams, promoters and the fans. A common sentiment from a driver/owner perspective, ‘why should I drive five to seven hours to a race when there is an event (which maybe a lesser paying show) within one to two hours of home?’”

Matt added, “We have been well supported by the drivers in the past with an average car count in the mid to upper 40’s over the last seven years; however this season with all the pressure we slipped from the at number. Though that is no ones fault, it was just the reality. I personally didn’t make any of our events this year because of my work commitments, so I can understand the situation with the drivers/owners as they are having to make some very difficult decisions on what races they were going to attend”.

Jeff concluded, “It is our hope, with this action, it will permit fans, drivers, and promoters the opportunity to be able to attend or present races with the maximum benefit for each of the individual concerns.

Andy summarized, “We regret leaving the sport, but it is time. It no longer makes sense from a business prospective for us to continue. You never know what the future will bring, but for now we are backing away. We have made many friends and acquaintances over the last 13 seasons, as well as have enjoyed our time as Series organizers and promoters of short track dirt late model racing”.

With this announcement all Series stores, hardware, and supplies are for sale. That includes our pit support trailer, scales, two-way radio’s, four wheelers, etc. For inventory information and pricing contact Jeff at the number listed below.

Jan 10 2010 - Wease Sweeps The Weekend As Kenyon Retires
By RON WARE
Classic Motorsports

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – On a night when auto racing bade farewell to one of its enduring – and endearing – figures, one of his protégés honored him by driving to victory lane. Billy Wease, one of the scores of young drivers nurtured by the retiring Mel Kenyon, held off a relentless Dave Darland on Sunday to complete a weekend sweep of the midget features in the 12th annual “Rumble in Fort Wayne” at the Memorial Coliseum Expo Center. The 23-year-old Wease joined two-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart as the only drivers to win both midget features in a Rumble Series weekend. But the Noblesville, Ind., resident knew the day belonged to Kenyon, the eight-time Indianapolis 500 starter, seven-time USAC national midget champion and all-time nice guy who ended a 56-year driving career.
“It’s such an honor to drive in Mel Kenyon’s last race,” said Wease, who remembers approaching the Hall of Famer for advice when he began driving Kenyon Cars at age 12. “He was a big part of me deciding to become a race driver. He’s done so much for racing.”
The 76-year-old Kenyon didn’t add to his 382 career victories, but he persevered to finish ninth in the 60-lap feature after being added to the field by Rumble Series promoter Tony Barhorst. He had finished sixth on Saturday. “Everybody is congratulating me, and I get a little emotional,” a misty-eyed Kenyon said, pausing. “It’s over. I’m glad we got in the feature. I’d have rather have gotten in ‘lawfully,’ but we were in it -- and the car’s still in one piece. Anytime you do something last, it’s one more miracle,” he said, having to pause. “It’s emotional." Fellow Indy 500 veteran Tom Bigelow was among those who attended to pay tribute to Kenyon. Long before he made it to the Brickyard and became a USAC champion, Bigelow was a young driver in need of a career break. The Kenyons – Mel and his brother, Don, his lifelong chief mechanic – provided it by hiring him to drive one of their midgets at Sun Prairie, Wis. Bigelow never forgot, calling Kenyon a clean driver and great teacher who had time for anyone. “You could always run up there with him without getting in trouble,” said Bigelow, whose first Indy 500 in 1973 was Kenyon’s last. “Once in a while you’d rub, but it was purely a racing incident. “Mel has always done a super job.” A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti, Johnny Rutherford and current NASCAR star Ryan Newman are among those who also drove for the Kenyons early in their careers.

Wease knows he’s not in their company, but he beamed when somebody mentioned that his name is now linked with both Kenyon and Stewart, who swept the Fort Wayne races in 2006. Stewart has won seven times at the 1/6-mile track but elected to race in Australia over the holidays. “I wanted to tie that,” he said. “Hopefully, one day I can break his record for Rumble wins. This was just a perfect weekend for us. I can’t say more than that.” Wease inherited the top spot when race-long leader Adam Wilsdon – a 14-year-old in his first weekend in a national midget – struck a tire marker on lap 45 while trying to lap Brandon Knupp. Wease held off Darland over the remaining 16 laps, with David Gough, Joe Liguori and Jon Stanbrough completing the top five. “I didn’t know how close the guys behind me were,” said a chagrined Wilsdon, who could have taken his time. Darland kept the pressure on, once tapping Wease in turn four, until a red flag waved on lap 55 to untangle the wrecked cars of Knupp and Mike Fedorcak. But Wease pulled away on the restart to woi by 2½ car-lengths.
Darland drove despite injuring his right thumb early in the day when he ran into the back of a push truck that abruptly stopped for a stalled car. The hand swollen, he still participated in an hour-long autograph session, deciding he could wait for X-rays. To drive, he had to remove the wrapping from his hand because his glove wouldn’t fit over it.“We fell off (at the end),” Darland said. “Every restart, it took me at least three laps for the tires to come in. It was just bad timing on the red there at the end.” The midget feature highlighted a full day of racing that included Ryan Smith’s victory over John Ivy in winged outlaw modified midgets and Brandon Dunn’s sweep of the senior heavy and senior medium kart classes, capping a 4-for-4 weekend. Cole Williams repeated in MiniCup stock cars, while Chad Orth, Preston Oberle, John Hawley, Charlie Schultz and Nic Sheppard also bagged kart victories. Caleb Wilkerson won in Jr. Sprints. Travis Ford, Austin Nemire, Jonathon Lesiecki, Ross Rankine and Danny Leaper earned trophies in JEGS quarter midgets.

CIRCLE TRACK MANAGEMENT GROUP, LLC
PRESENTS THE 1st ANNUAL BLACK DIAMOND 150
JANUARY 10, 2010

From the coal fields of Appalachia came the innovation and inspiration to build a race facility in the foothills of West Virginia. With little funding and many volunteers, Tyler County Speedway rose from the countryside. Over the years, this little known race track became a hotbed for nationally known drivers such as Rodney Combs, Steve Francis, Tim Hitt, Steve Shaver, Frank Wilson Jr.,. Mark & Mike Balzano, Paul Wilmoth, Earl Hill, Doug Horton, Butch McGill and many others. In the mid 1990’s, as dirt late model racing emerged into a premiere form of racing, Tyler County Speedway stepped up and began to host the "STARS" Late Models and "ALL STAR" Sprint events. With the injection of other major events, Tyler County Speedway became that diamond in the rough.

In the past with sell-out crowds reaching 5,000 fans, seating capacity was stretched beyond its limits. In a 3 phase construction plan, 7,000 seats will be added to "The Bullring". Also to be added is NASCAR style catch fencing in the turns of the speedway. With physical improvements equaling the high standard of Tyler County Speedway’s racing "The Bullring" can NOW host a race with the largest one-day purse in North America - Ladies & Gentlemen, Tyler County Speedway, along with Circle Track Management Group LLC, proudly presents the "BLACK DIAMOND 125", the newest crown jewel in dirt track racing. "Over the last 12 years, Tyler County Speedway has had a tradition during the Labor Day weekend to host a 3 day race weekend, not only for the racers and fans, but also the community", states Craig Eddy. "This tradition continues in 2010. It is a time for the racing, but also for a weekend of camping & enjoying time with friends."

The Black Diamond Weekend, September 3rd, 4th & 5th, will consist of 3 days of hard core, high energy racing, consisting of the Super Late Models, Fastrak Crate Late Models, AMRA Modifieds, Hot Mods, Mod Lites, Pure Stocks, Weekend Warrior 4 cylinders, & MWRA Mini Wedges. Friday September 3rd will see the Super Late Models vying for a payday of $10,000, while the Fastrak Northeast Touring Series will see who can garner the $3,000 winner’s check. The AMRA Modifieds, Hot Mods, Mod Lites, Pure Stocks, 4 cylinders & Mini Wedges will also enter into Friday’s action. PPMS Releases 2010 Tentative Schedule

Officials of Miley Motor Sports have assembled an exciting 2010 schedule of events for Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway. The 2010 "Total Special Event" schedule features championship racing events or exciting fan promotions on virtually every event.

The season will kick off with an open practice on Saturday, March 27 followed by the the "2010 Blastoff" season opener on Saturday, April 3. Weekly Saturday night racing in 2010 will feature the Super Late Models, Semi-Lates (formerly Pro-Lates), E-mods, Cadets (formerly Sportsman), Hobby (formerly Factory Stock) and Young Gun Classes.

Rules for all classes have been posted for the upcoming season on the track website and are highly compatible with other area track's rules. Officials are very excited about the new GM 525 motor option for Super Late Models. Race teams will be able to compete in the Super Late Model class for approximately $9,000 in motor costs. The Spec motor program has been a key to keeping the Super Late Model division on track at PPMS, and the even lower cost GM 525 motor should continue that trend well into the future by allowing more race teams to remain in the class long-term.

Headlining the 2010 schedule are 4 UFo Race Championship events. PPMS will continue to operate as the home-base track of the UFo tour. The "Red Miley 53" will take place on Saturday, May 15, with the "F-2" Shockwave on Saturday, July 24 and the "PENNational" on Saturday, August 28. The annual "Pittsburgher/Ultimate" is scheduled for the traditional 3rd weekend in September. 3 of those events will be co-sanctioned with the United Late Model Series from the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania including "The Pittsburgher." The 2009 UFo events at PPMS produced some of the most exciting racing in the track's history.

The BRP Tour for Big Block Modifieds return on Saturday, May 29 for "Modisaurus-X." This event will be an open wheel bonanza with the UEMS/TSMA E-mods also in competiton for a championship race. A full racing program including the Super Late Models will round out the racing program.

The 410 Super Sprints will invade PPMS on Saturday, July 10 for the "Flight of the Phoenix." The winged warriors produce incredible speeds on the Monster Half-Mile, unlike anywhere else. This program will also feature all divisions including Super Late Models.

At least 2 championship, extra-distance events have been scheduled for the Semi-Lates, E-mods, Cadets, Hobby & Young Gun divisions during the regular racing season, in addition to "The Pittsburgher/Ultimate." The "Semi-Late Grand Prix" is scheduled for June 12 with the annual "Jook George Championship" on August 14. The E-mods will take place in the UEMS/TSMA face-off as part of "Modisaurus-X" on May 29 with the TSMA "E-mod Tri-State Challenge" on July 31. The "Cadet Frenzoid" will take place on April 24 with the "Cadet Thunder Run" scheduled for Labor Day weekend, September 4 th. The Hobby & Young Gun divisions will compete in their "Spring & Fall Trophy Championships" on April 17 and September 11.

Free grandstand admission will also return to PPMS in 2010. On designated nights, the residents of all surrounding counties, West Virginia and Ohio will be admitted to the grandstands for free.

The Wacky Wheels Figure-8 class will also be returning to PPMS in 2010 for 4 events. This 4-cylinder, strictly stock class provides daredevil drivers a very low-cost way to compete at PPMS.

The season will come to a summit on September 16-17-18 with the 22nd annual "Pittsburgher/Ultimate." The UFo Super Late Models co-sanctioned by ULMS will headline the weekend's events. The new 2009 format produced the most amazing "Pittsburgher" ever and an equally outstanding "Ultimate." Bart Hartman passed a total of 28 cars in the feature events to sweep the twin 51-lap races, carrying home the biggest prize ever paid at PPMS. The Semi-Lates, UEMS/TSMA E-mods and Cadets will compete in companion Super Championship events along with the Hobby & Young Gun divisions.

Before the 2008 and 2009 racing seasons, Miley Motor Sports has added new clay to the Monster Half-Mile as well as reconfigure the track banking. The result has been top-to-bottom, 3 and 4 wide racing on the 100 foot wide surface. The past off season is no exception, as even more new clay was hauled in to continue the excellent competition at PPMS.

Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway is located just west of Pittsburgher off US 22/30 at the Noblestown Exit. Complete track information may be obtained at the track website. More information can also be obtained by calling 412-279-7223 weekdays.

UFo Race Championship and 3 State Flyers Clash at Hesston in 2010!

(Mars, PA) - The mountain area of central PA will be the site of an all-out show down of force in 2010 as the UFo Race Championship will come head-to-head with the 3 State Flyers at Hesston Speedway. "Thunder by the Lake" on Sunday night July 4 will mark the first-ever face-off between the two regional tours.

Hesston Speedway will be under new management in 2010, operated by track owner Dave Ericksen and promoter Dustin Hertzler. Immediately following the conclusion of the 2009 season, improvements began at the speedway including new clay, pit area reconfiguration and better parking access. The management group has confirmed their commitment to racing in the Central PA region with an exciting schedule of events including the return of the Super Late Models for the 3 State Flyers/UFo "Thunder by the Lake."

This co-sanctioned event will see a merger of procedures between the two tours, with the fan-favorite pill draw heat race format being the common ground between the 2 tours. As with all UFo and 3 State Flyer events, an open tire rule will be in place. Base weight for open motor, aluminum block cars will be 2,300 pounds with UFo weight breaks and spoiler variances for steel block, spec and GM 525 motors. The feature winner will receive $3,000 with $300 for 24th position, according the 3 State Flyers minimum payoff.

The recent trend continues toward more regionalized Super Late Model tours that provide race teams more reasonable travel distances to events. Hesston Speedway provides a unique opportunity for this cross-sanction due to its location on the outside edge of the zone of each of these regional tour. Super Late Model fans will be able to see the best drivers from the West PA-OH-WV and Central PA-MD-VA regions come together for this double invasion of power.

The UFo Race Championship Tour is proudly sponsored by Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic and Lias Tire/American Racer. 100% of their sponsorship will be given to the top point standing drivers in prize money and awards. Layne. “There’s no doubt that this weekend will bring many of the top Mod Lite racers in the country to southern Ohio for a chance to win big money on back-to-back nights. The big plus is our tracks are only located 45 minutes apart from each other so there will be almost no travel at all between races.”

“The Mod Lite drivers have shown a lot of interest in racing at Portsmouth Raceway Park, so I believe this will be an exciting event for all involved.”, stated PRP co-promoter Donna Rayburn. “This will give this class a weekend to remember in 2010! First at Rocky Top then on to PRP. Also, Holiday Inn Express (740-353-3232) is our racing headquarters for any fans or race teams that wish to spend the night in the area.”

Layne added, “I’m really looking forward to seeing the Mod Lites at PRP. PRP is a first class facility and I believe their track configuration will be perfect for these cars. I want to thank the Coleman family and PRP promoters Donna Rayburn and Chuck Greenslate for making this weekend happen.”

Rocky Top Raceway announces 2010 rules and payouts
By: T. J. Layne

COAL GROVE, OH-The Rocky Top Raceway is proud to announce several changes to the rules and an increased Late Model payout for the 2010 season. First, all drivers in each class in 2010 will be required to have a Raceceiver Radio. The Raceceiver Radios feature a one way communication between the tower and each driver. Raceceiver’s will be available each night at the track to rent or purchase. Drivers can also purchase the Raceceiver’s prior to the season starting by going to www.raceceiver.com. RTR recommend’s getting the Elite 1600 Pro because it provides the best sound quality.

“Making Raceceiver Radios mandatory will provide several benefits to both the drivers and the fans”, stated RTR promoter T. J. Layne. “This will make our show run much more smoother as this is expected to cut the number of caution laps in half and eliminate any waiting times between races. The Raceceivers also make things much safer for the drivers as the race director will be able to inform drivers immediately of a caution. With the decrease in caution laps, I also expect this to save racers money in fuel.”

Scales will be purchased and weight rules will be enforced in each division for 2010. The Late Model division will remain with the same rules (unsanctioned, open tire rule) but will have a minimum weight rule of 2,300 pounds. The Modified class will be AMRA sanctioned and run under AMRA rules for the 2010 season. The Mod Lite class will remain under T-USA rules.

There will be major changes for the Bomber class in 2010. The class will run under K-C Hobby Stock rules with a weight rule of 3,250 pounds for ALL cars. A complete copy of the 2010 RTR Bomber rules is posted on the website.

Payouts for the AMRA Modifieds, Bombers, and Mod Lites will remain the same in 2010. The Late Models will have a restructured and increased purse for 2010. In an effort to significantly increase car counts, $420 has been added to the overall Late Model purse from what it was in 2009. The complete payout is posted at the end of the press release.

“We’ve put a lot of thought into our 2010 Late Model payout”, stated Layne. “We hate to decrease the winners purse any, but there can only be one winner so we feel it is better to spread the money through the field and pay each position really strong. Many race teams have suggested a payout like this so we feel that this will increase our Late Model car counts significantly in 2010. We will also be looking for weekly sponsors to try to bump the winners purse up some more each week”

The 2010 racing season will get underway on Saturday, April 10th with the annual Test N Tune Day. Opening Night will be on Friday, April 16th with a full program of Late Models-$1,200 to win, AMRA Modifieds-$650 to win, Bombers-$350 to win, and Mod Lites-$300 to win (with 15+). -ROARING KNOB MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX OFFICIAL NEWS RELEASE

MARKLEYSBURG, PA (1-5-10) - After trying unsuccessfully for over a year to sell the racetrack property, equipment and business, the ownership group felt it was imperative to make their plans for the facility in 2010 known. The current ownership group, Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex, LLC will cease to operate effective immediately. Speaking for RKMC, Managing Partner Ron Brutt made this statement: "We regret that we could not find a successful party to buy and operate the racetrack in 2010 and beyond. We realize that plans and schedules must be made, thus prolonging an announcement would not be in the best interest of anyone. We will continue to search for a buyer; until that happens, the racetrack will be shuttered. We want to thank our many loyal racers, fans, employees, sponsors and vendors for their support the past seven years. Our goal when we started this venture was to build a first-class race entertainment facility for fans and competitors alike, then eventually turn it over to another party to continue its growth into the future. We have accomplished what we set out to do, and more; now we must find that right party to continue on with it." Interested parties can contact Ron Brutt at his business office 412-771-0124, or any of the investor partners for details in purchasing. Any change in the status of the racetrack will be announced promptly on their website www.roaringknob.com .

- Notable ARCA Daytona test times: (fast time) Mikey Kile @ 49.164 / 183.061 mph.
12th fast was Josh Richards at 49.418 seconds, next was Danica Patrick at 49.443.
Ex Moto X racer Ricky Carmichael turned a best lap of 49.564 good for 23rd quick.
76 year old James Hylton ran a 51.288 @ 175.480 mph and 49th fastest

- MILWAUKEE MILE sinks deeper into oblivion with the announcement they will not host a Nationwide, Camping World Truck, or IRL event in 2010. The track is operated by the Wisconsin State Fair Park Board, which has spent the last six months in negotiations with four potential promoters. The truck race at Milwaukee was scheduled for June 18, with the Nationwide event slated the following day. The NASCAR schedule shows a big TBA for the truck date but the Nationwide race has been picked up by Road America, a 4 mile / 14 turn road course that will keep the event in Wisconsin. Tim Flock won the only other NASCAR event here in August of 1956.

- "Barefoot" Bob McCreadie recieved $1.7 million dollars in a recent court ordered settlement in retribution for a May 31, 2006 accident that knocked him off his Harley Davidson motorcycle, which fell on top of him ultimately ending his legendary racing career. Dawn Millet was charged for the accident after cutting diagonally across a parking lot and crashing into McCreadie. Ironically Millet was employed by and in the process of making a mail run for an insurance company when the accident took place in Watertown New York.
