U2 Kristen Flory / 2006 dirt Late Model Racing Season Just Ahead:

The familiar U2 called Lakeville Speedway home in 2005 where she challenged Charlie Duncan for the championship scoring one feature win, seven heat wins, eleven top fives, and only once in 18 starts finished out of the top ten. That my friends is an incredible accomplishment considering the competition at Lakeville. Determination was a major factor in her succuss this year, as an example Kristen rolled her new MastersBuilt race car during hot laps and only a short time later that same evening returned to win a heat race ! It was a very exciting season at Lakeville with many memorable runs against the likes of Mike Mizer, Eric Smitley, DJ Cline, and Charlie Duncan just to name a few,
Kristen gave the race fans a lot to cheer about in 2005 !
It is always great to see the bright red U2 machine at different venues as Kristen is gaining experience racing around the region. A first attempt at Tyler County Speedways Hillbilly 50 netted Kristen a feature start last year while this years try was much more difficult as qualifying played a big role on a tired racetrack. Still, the # U2 - Rays Garage Racing Team gained a lot of new fans and the exposure at major league racing events is priceless ! While on the subject of big league races, Kristen Florys name is in the record books as the only female entrant in the 2005 Dirt
Track World Championship held at the ultra fast, super high banked KC Raceway. Driving her Medina Mountain Motor powered "Lakeville Steel Block" against all the best in the business the goal was to turn laps, stay out of trouble and have fun which all were accomplished. Once again, fans took notice and a bright future waits just around the corner.

The 2006 season will begin at East Bay Raceway near Tampa Florida this February to compete for the WinterNationals title. After that Kristens plans are "hit and miss", running for higher paying purses that don't have a high entrant fee like that carried by various sanctions. Look for Kristen at places like Tyler County, Midway, and especially
KC Raceway, a track she would love to master. A new Medina Mountain Motor is currently being assembled using special aluminum heads torqued atop a steel block that will make lots of power yet remain reliable in order to continue her consistent streak. This motor will prohibit the U2 from the weekly program at Lakeville but this team is confident and ready to meet new challenges, Lakeville fans will only see Kristen compete in selected Big 4 Series events only.
