2005 was a breakout season for "The Hurricane" Hiram Bachman. Taking possession of Bob Daughertys' former # 21 Camaro Hiram quickly turned it into his own and set out to earn his nickname. The Hurricane scored a career first feature win on the 4th of July at Lakeville followed by a second win on August 26. When it came down to the final points race and season championship Hiram found himself 5 points down to one of the best in the business, the # 7 Ford driven by Fred Snyder. A rallying effort during a heat race put Bachman in the favored outside pole where he held off the seasoned pro to record a third win and tie Snyder for the Championship. Final tally - 3 wins, 12 top 5's, and 2 top 10's in regular season. |
